Spotlight on Salma Tawfik

“I walked into Taqaddam workshop as a student with a big English dictionary under my arm, they told me at school it’s an English course! But then I was happily surprised to find out it’s much bigger than that. It was the first real test of my confidence when I held the mic to speak for the first time in the workshop in front of many people I had never met before. At first I was nervous and hesitant and didn’t know how to express myself, but after two hours I felt I was able to organize my thoughts and speak them.

And it was through my journey as student ambassador and the support from the taqaddam team that I was able to find the right path for my passion. I chose to study Mass communication because of Taqaddam. Everything I did and learnt in taqaddam I ended up using in one way or another whether at University or life or work, it’s like a preparatory program for life after graduation. I am very grateful for all the knowledge, skills and experience. Taqaddam literally transformed me!”
